Energize Event 2026

On Thursday, July 2, colleagues from the MeeMaken group gathered once again for our annual Energize Event! With a group of over 100 MeeMakers, we came together for an afternoon filled with sports, games, snacks and drinks, teamwork, and—above all—lots of fun.

Every year, the Energize Event provides an opportunity to meet colleagues and catch up with one another. During this 5th anniversary edition, the focus was on the Stichting ALS Nederland. After one of our colleagues was personally confronted with the impact of ALS last year, choosing this charity was a natural decision.

The MeeMaken Energize Event was created with sustainability in mind: to get colleagues moving, boost vitality, and at the same time give back to society. In this way, we transform the energy we generate together—both literally and figuratively—into social impact. Through our support of the Stichting ALS Nederland, we’re contributing to the fight against this devastating disease.

This year’s theme was “Expedition MeeMaken.” Twelve teams took on the challenge with games, puzzles, and tasks that emphasized teamwork, insight, and perseverance. Of course, there was also an opportunity to participate in familiar favorites such as volleyball, stand-up paddleboarding, “energize biking”—where participants made smoothies by pedaling and competed against each other in a race to generate as much energy as possible—and jeu de boules.

The afternoon was energetically led by Bob Koning, a psychosomatic physical therapist at Telstar, who used his megaphone to provide participants with tips, motivation, and encouragement. In addition, Karin Lindenhovius, winner of the first season of *Expeditie Robinson*, inspired everyone with her personal story about teamwork, resilience, and perseverance.

Thanks to the energy points earned and the €2,755 raised through our online ALS donation page, we collectively raised a record-breaking €20,000 for Stichting ALS Nederland at this Energize Event. At the end of the afternoon, Joyce van Roest accepted the check on behalf of the ALS Netherlands Foundation and shared more about the important work that this donation supports.

We look back on a special day filled with laughter and, above all, a great deal of sincere dedication. We would therefore like to thank all our colleagues and everyone involved for coming and for their contributions. Together, we not only had a wonderful day, but we also made a real impact.
